I was moving and needed a book shelf. I thought it was going to be black brown for some reason. When it came it more a deep reddish brown. Very pretty. It really fit in my bedroom which have a lot of Asian color.

The shelf was easy to put together when it came in but the boxes are very heavy. I am petite so I had a little trouble bringing it indoors. The shelf is actually four pieces that you stack on top of each other. It is made of very sturdy wood(thick).

If I had space, I would most likely buy another.

Everything came in pretty good shape, except for a few minor scratches on the metal part of the doors, and a nick or two on the top plank. It's discreet and looks like normal wear and tear though, and it wasn't bad enough for me to send back and risk getting a worse one. The back cover doesn't fit as well as I think it should, but I got it on there. Some of the cam locks were a bit hard to turn, and one set of doors doesn't match up exactly, even after a bit of tweaking.

All in all, it looks great assembled, and it's just the right height and look for my living room. I put it together myself, which only gets difficult when you have to put the top part on (but it can be done). It sounds like it has a few problems, but like I said before, it wasn't enough to make me send it back. It's sturdy, and looks like it'll last a while. A good investment worth the price, especially when you see all of the more expensive plain-jane ones that are out there. You'll definitely get some great compliments on it!

I am pleased, but not thrilled, with the wall niche.I ordered beige and the one I received was pale green.It fit in OK with my decor so I decided to keep it rather than deal with the hassle of returning it.It was not real difficult to install; however, it was 1/2 inch too deep for my wall, which I thought was a pretty standard-sized wall for a private home.My brother and cousin got some 1/2 inch molding and glued this around the back before glueing the whole thing into the wall.Now installed, it is lovely and I like it.Oh, one other problem was that there were no pegs included to hold up the shelves.Luckily, they fit in very tightly and I'm not putting anything heavy on them.The workmanship on the product is good.

Stackable Cedar Wood Shoe Racks - Set of 2 - by Woodlore Review

These smell nice and look nice in the closet but they don't merit five stars due to the lack of real stability. I have two of them, purchased together so I could stack them (as advertised). They are stackable but they are connected via little wooden pins that you insert into pre-drilled holes. I guess if we had small feet or very light shoes (lol) this would not be an issue but I specifically bought these for our Frye boots, Uggs, tennis shoes, etc.... the type of stuff you don't usually put back into boxes during their season of use. So, maybe during the summer when we are only dropping sandals and flip flops on the shelfs it won't matter but right now the shelfs - which HAVE NOT come apart, by the way - kind of sway and threaten to topple if we were to hit it the wrong way with, say, my heavy Frye boots, etc.

If you purchased these, with the top (sold separately) and just used one level w/top I'll bet it would be fairly sturdy - which is what I expected from cedar and $69.00 a pop - without having to have the lid to stabilize the shelf....

Maybe it sounds nit-picky but to me these are darn expensive and I expected much more than what I would have gotten from the plastic shelfs I passed up in favor of these...

If I had it to do over again, personally, I would get the plastic.... also sold here in Amazon.

I put these in the laundry rooms of an apartment building.They are not huge, like the ones you might find in a large commercial laundry, but are well made and sturdy enough to take the abuse they will be subject to.Especially handy is the hanging rack to keep wrinkles to a minimum or hang dry items.I also put a couple in my home basement laundry, because the laundry (10) baskets kept stacking up in my teens rooms. This cart stays where it belongs! The height of the basket is perfect for scooping laundry out of a front load washer right into the basket. Also, the price cannot be beat and Amazon's free shipping made these quite a bargain compared to other site's price with shipping, it's heavy so the shipping would have been about $20. at least.

Wuchow Wide - screen Tv Stand With Glass Doors Review

We got the black version of this cabinet.
I have to say, this was a fairly unique piece for the price, so there can't be too much complaining. It looks great in our asian-themed playroom, but there are some points to consider.

The styling is very nice to complement either traditional or modern asian design. We have it in a room where we've gone modern asian, but it would look equaly great in my mother-in-law's more traditional chinese living room.

However, it was a real pain in the butt to put together. After having put together a bunch of stuff from Ikea (which is VERY easy), this seemed like a real nightmare. Instructions weren't well thought out and not everything lines up quite as it should have. If you've got experience putting furniture together you'll figure it all out and get it looking right... otherwise, be prepared to ask someone who does have experience for help.

More importantly, the center shelves do NOT allow for a standard size receiver. And it's really frustrating that it's off by only a small amount so the receiver ALMOST fits -- just not quite right. It's not an assembly issue, it's off enough for us to know it's the way the cabinet was designed. Definitely annoying since we INTENDED to put our receiver in the unit, and not on a separate shelf next to it, which is what we ended up having to do.

There are always compromises one has to make, and in this case the pro's outweighed the cons -- at least to me. Home Decorator's delivered the item quick and by Fedex, and it was boxed well.

I'd probably buy it again, for the sheer fact that it's not easy to find a large TV stand with chinese styling at this price... and we ARE happy with how it looks.

Oak Veneer Double Multicolormedia Case Without Doors Review

I needed something tall, wide and sturdy for my movie collection, but it needed to look good and not be too deep. This case was perfect. I had a much smaller case before, but it was a lot deeper, and jutted out into the room. This one actually makes the room seem larger, even though it's much taller and wider than the old case.

The black oak veneer looks very nice. I was afraid it might look cheap, but no worries there.

The shelves are adjustable, but if you have oversize VHS tapes or books they will have to go on the top shelf because of how the pegs are laid out. Otherwise, you can pretty much go nuts with DVDs, games, CDs, etc.

Assembly was fairly easy, but goes quicker with two people.

Coventry Media Stand Review

Pros:
- Reasonable price (for this type of furniture)
- Open spaces for your electronics (lets heat dissipate), rather than enclosed
- Drawer can be left out to create 3rd open shelf and still looks "finished"
- Not overly complex to assemble (i.e. not a particularly large amount of hardware for furniture this size)
- Holes pre-drilled in the back of the drawer in case you want to keep a game console there
- Mostly wood construction, only flimsy pieces are back panel and drawer bottom (typical)
- Customer service and technical assistance in US (Dallas Texas), numbers clearly printed in directions

Cons:
- Couple of minor dings (OK, I can touch the small ones up with a black marker)
- A rather large ding on prominent top piece, I am contacting SEI to obtain replacement piece (will update with results)
- Instructions leave a bit to be desired, not all my pieces were labeled (but some were), some pieces are easy to reverse
- My parts bag was torn open, parts scattered in the box (but all there)
- Fit of doors is hit-or-miss, not always 'square' in the openings, you can mitigate this some by lifting on one side or the other (the unit will flex slightly)
- The dowels that support the shelves in the cabinets are not level with each other, as a result one shelf is not stable and will "rock" slightly. For me this is only one one side, and only in one of the 3 possible height positions (the middle one - which is really where I want the shelf).

Misc:
- Made in Vietnam.
- About 70-80lbs.

UPDATE: I called SEI's customer support line regarding the damaged top piece I received. I was able to speak to a human without too much automation, and she arranged for a new top piece to be shipped to me no questions asked and no charge. I received it and the replacement piece was in perfect shape. So, I'll upgrade my rating to 4 stars due to the good customer service.

We purchased this mission style 3 shelf bookcase in the cherry finish and it is really gorgeous! It looks like high quality wood and a lovely color. (It's less orange and more reddish than pictured.) It appears to be very sturdy. It took some maneuvering but turned out to be not too difficult for one person to assemble.

We wish the dimensions between the shelves had been provided though because, as it happens, books over 9.5" won't fit on the shelves. It looks like the 60" high 4 shelf bookcase will fit taller books, but that listing doesn't provide those dimensions either (See: ALL SOLID WOOD Mission Style 4-Shelf Bookcase in Cherry Finished ).

Still, this is such a nice piece of furniture that we're hoping they manufacture the bookshelf in the same height (36") and depth (12") but half the length (at approximately 15"), because we'd love to purchase that size to fit narrower spaces. Although we've seen very similar bookcases for considerably less money at another store, these are so attractive that we'd really love to be able to get matching pieces in more than just the two sizes currently available. Would like to see them offered in other finishes, too, including black.

ArtBin Super Satchel/Slim Divider - Translucent Review

I was a bit disappointed when they first arrived. I bought 2 of these, but when I put them together I found some of the small dividing partitions missing--- 8 from one and 10 from the other (by the way, putting it together is simply pushing the partitions into place...the shelves, lid, everything else is one piece). I contacted the dealer by phone and was told there were no more available at this time and I was offered a refund. I chose to keep them. I thought (if need be)I could use pieces of cardboard. It turned out I didn't need them anyway!

As a storage case it's great! I kept some "dividers" out to make larger chambers for things like fabric markers, seam strippers, needles with threader, etc.. Others are small chambers for spools of threads. Still others for spools plus loaded bobbins. It snaps open and shut with two clasps and seem to be very strong. We have a new cat..... I'm sure countless messes have been avoided. The contents are secure yet easy to identify through the "fairly-transparent" walls. I like the fact that I move it all at one time, like a very small book case/tool box (I can't think of a good comparison). Anyway, if I'm going to use the sewing machine I can bring everything out in a couple of minutes---put it all away just as quickly.

For the price versus the convenance I would highly recommend this to others. And while I was disappointed with the missing parts, I was pleased with the quick response from the dealer (ScrapbookingAlley) in attempting to solve the problem. That's why I decided thar 5 stars was appropriate.

Contemporary X-Cross Design Bookshelf Review

This is my first review on Amazon, and I am playing into my own theory that only people who are disappointed write reviews, but this product is so poorly made that I couldn't sleep until I warned others. There are 2 screw-dowels that broke while screwing them in, cutting my hand....so I do admit I put the rest of it together a bit cautiously and with a band-aid on my hand....
The bookshelf is made very cheaply, and I'll have to reinforce the bottom shelf with another glued member from underneath in order to set anything on it. The wooden dowels that they "pre-installed" were not in all the way and popped the wood veneer off the finished side during assembly. I had to glue the veneer back on. It also did not come with any stickers to cover the screw heads, and they are VERY noticeable after installation. I had to use black electrical tape that I cut around a penny that semi-matches the black finish.

The furniture came with no paperwork other than the 2 page instructions of assembly. No company name on the box. Although the box did come with a 1-800 number to call if any parts were missing or defective....go figure, the line has been busy every time I called.

Thank God for Liquid Nails, Band-Aids, and a sense of humor. My wife and I laughed more while putting this piece of junk together than we have in a while....we were just amazed every step of the way on how we got screwed.

That being said, it does look nice from across the room. I am just not sure how sturdy it is....I guess time will tell, and we may be in for some more laughs.

Like reviewer Triana, I bought this mirror for use in a very small bathroom.In some ways, it is quite nice.The frame is solidly assembled and all the joints are tight.The finish is generally good, though certainly not of fine-furniture quality.There is some evidence of uneven finish sanding, for example, and the sheen on the paint is uneven in places.I'm not sure the finish will tolerate bumps without chipping.

The mirror, itself, is made of very thin glass.Of greater significance, the item that I received had the mirror mounted a little high in the frame so that the cut edge was clearly visible at the bottom.A bit of disassembly and adjustment fixed that problem. I saw no evidence that it had slipped during shipping; I suspect it was just hastily assembled. The packaging was substantial.

In short, this is an inexpensive mirror that offers reasonably good value for money.If you view your own furnishings with a very critical eye or worry that others may do so, you may not find the build quality acceptable.For most of us, a week after it goes up we won't even notice the little defects.

12" Flat White Wood Shelf Review

This item and it's counterparts in various sizes were very difficult to install. One of them was missing the screws. The craftsmanship is rather shabby too. If you have incredibly flat/new walls it might not be too difficult, but I would not bet on it. By far one of the most difficult things I have ever done. One took me very long to get on the wall, only to find out that the screw was out to far so it looks slanted/crooked- but there is no way I am taking it off again!! Maybe no one will notice.... ;)

The tower arrived BEFORE the estimated date, always a nice surprise!I got home from work today and found 2 boxes outside my front door, 1 large and 1 small.I dragged the boxes inside and went to work!

I live in a condo and do not have lots of room for shelves in my den, so I thought this spinning tower might be a good solution. It is.It only takes up 18 3/4 inches of floor space but has room for many DVDs/CDs.

As the previous reviewer noted, assembly is easy. Like that reviewer, I did it by myself in about an hour.Assembly is via the usual cam-and-pin arrangement common with this kind of furniture.

Just be careful when attaching the 8 side pieces.Make sure the holes for the shelf pins are opposite each other on each side.It is possible to assemble them upside down.Don't ask me how I know this...

To summarize, a great product at this price.

Craftsman Corner Wide - screen Tv Stand Review

I was pleasantly suprised by this TV stand. I got it because I needed a corner stand with storage to fit my 46" plasma for under $300. I was nervous when I purchased it because the description I read said "wood veneer", but I was happy to see that the finish (I went with the Macintosh finish) is actually pretty nice.It also feels very solid once assembled, which is probably because of the good fit between all the pieces, and the thicker backing pieces that another reviewer mentioned (by the way the backing pieces are MDF, not wood). My only complaint is that the drawers don't open as smoothly as they would if they had used metal tracks, but really for the price it's not a deal breaker.

It was pretty easy to assemble, as the diagrams were pretty easy to follow, though they could have stepped up and broken the directions down into more than two steps (1. assemble tv stand, 2. assemble drawers). It took me about 2 hours to do by myself while entertaining a 10 week old baby. I figure sans baby, it probably would have taken half that.

I saw some questions about measurements. I didn't get all the dimensions, but the center opening is 22" wide and the center shelf height is adjustable to 3 different positions.The drawers are 11" wide by 9.5" long. I use them to store DVDs and video games, and it works out pretty well.

Overall I am very happy with the stand.It's solid, looks pretty good, and didn't cost me an arm and a leg.

I was looking for a piece that would hold all my home theater electronics as well as my movies, and this does the job. It's very sturdy, and looks great in my living room. Assembly took a couple hours by myself (mainly because there are so many pieces). There was one missing connector piece from my package but it wasn't necessary to finish assembling. There are a couple words of caution I have though if you are considering buying this item. It is heavy. It's over 100 lbs assembled, so if you are smaller person, I recommend having a friend help you put it together and move it. Second, the drawers have a stopping mechanism which keeps the drawer from sliding out completely. If you're planning on putting movies in the drawers like I did, be aware that the movies in the rear of the drawer may be slightly difficult to take out. Finally, the instructions aren't terrible, but make sure you identify connector and hardware pieces before you start putting it together. There are a couple pieces that look very similar to each other, and hard to identify. This piece does require some hammering of nails and a little tool knowledge, but nothing terribly difficult. Overall, I would recommend this piece if you're looking for something to hold your home theater components as well as media. The shelves (1 fixed, 1 adjustable) give plenty of room for whatever you may have and there are holes in the back wall for your cables. Good buy.

I am very pleased with the quality of this tube file.It is made of heavy, chromed steel rods and assembled so that it opens easily from its flat shipping configuration.I am also very impressed with Safco's service:my rack arrived with a broken wheel, apparently due to a shipping accident, and Safco replaced the wheel very quickly at no cost to me.The only drawback I've found is that the openings where the rolls of drawings are inserted are a bit small for normal rolls of architectural drawings, so I've had to compress the rolls with rubber bands to get them to slide in and out easily.If you handle mostly small projects you wont face this limitation.

Two-Sided Spinning Tower - Oak/Black Review

I like this CD/DVD holder so much I bought a second one of these (for DVDs) when my first one filled up. (The first one I bought is used just for my CD collection.)

They came unassembled with all the tools necessary to completely assemble. It took me about 45 minutes the first time, but the second time was less than a half hour. They swivel beautifully. There are only two reasons I can't give it a 5:

1) A few of the screws don't stay in. This meant I had to use an extra couple of nails of my own. I hammered them into the tops to make sure the whole thing didn't come apart with excessive usage.

2) The shelves start to bend from the weight of the CDs. This doesn't seem to happen with DVDs so I guess they weigh less. The flexing isn't bad, but it is noticeable to me.

Another thing to note is that, when using DVDs there is a small space left that is big enough to use for CDs. It's too short for more DVDs, though. Since I hate the empty space, I place box sets and my own homemade CDs on that shelf. I bought these both in black.

I had to send this back because it could not even be assembled.There are 34 little metal clips that are supposed to hold the sides together.But they are too small and cannot even be pressed on with pliers.Their suggested solution was to have one person hold the pieces together while another put on the clips.I am pretty mechanically inclined, and it is clear to me that these clips just don't fit.I am returning two of them. If you like frustration and a challenge, go for it.

It's a good book case with nice adjustable shelves... kinda heavy (which would be the case for a wood shelf) )and the instructions are a bit hard to understand in some parts, but overal not bad. The Drawer was tricky to put in. the instruchtions set a specific spot to place the track, which made the drawer stickout a bit, but there are other small pre-drilled holes so you can adjust it without having to guess, which is nice.

My workbox looks awesome. I got the knotty alder one. My biggest complains
is the table is no where near big enough for me, but I make it work by using
another side table. What's funny is, I never thought I'd have enough stuff
to require something like this, but we ALL have it! For instance, I have
started to buy stamps so many times I can't count! Anyway, it looks great -
it is right out in the open in my great room and I pretty much keep it open
all the time.

The only other caution I have for you is that it does come out really far
from the wall. Make sure to look at the dimensions if you haven't seen it in
person and measure the space you are thinking about. To help, I found this
video the company did that they shows more about the product. Enjoy!

Bush Napa Entertainment Audio Tower Rack Cabinet Review

Well, I had one of those pressed-wood entertainment center things with the plastic wood grain. So when I moved my things, they all stayed in an unheated storage room for a few extra years there. Then I got a new apartment and could finally set up my big component system that I was building up a piece at a time, and this Bush rack seemed like just what I wanted, at a lot better price than the ones in the audio wishbook.

When it came I assembled it in one evening and put all the stereo gear in it and I found out my Vincent sp-331 power amp is about an inch too long to use the cabinet with the door on, but it looks ok with it left off though, and someday I might alter the back a little bit to get that extra space at the bottom, and maybe a little fan then because of all the heat that thing puts out.

I gave that huge Sauder thing to Goodwill.

They are sturdy little boxes, and REALLY added some style to my low budget closet organizer! itso 1x1 Cube with Shelf - White Review

I saw these shelves displayed at Target.The outside of the box said that assembly is easy and no tools were required.
Looked good to me, so I bought 5 of these ITSO shelves plus one long shelf to put in my closet.

Assembly is easy enough if you follow directions.Where I had trouble was putting on the back wall.There's predrilled holes that you're supposed to line up with other predrilled holes, but they didn't line up....and I bought 6 of these units and had this problem on all 6.The good news is that the wood is really soft so all I had to do was drill a wider hole with my screwdriver and then use the back of my screwdriver to tap the plastic screws in.
I also needed the back of my screwdriver to hammer in the metal bracket that holds the middle shelf.In all 6 units, I had the same problem with the metal bracket being wider than the holes.

So, despite the claim that no tools are required, I did need to use tools.Once assembled, these shelves are quite attractive.I bought mine in maple, but the dark wood displayed at Targed looked equally attractive.

I am extremely pleased with this product.It is nice looking and appears to be good quality.My husband put it together and said it took a while, but was not hard to do when following instructions.However, more glue would have been helpful.I have only had it for about a week, so cannot yet comment on durability.I bought this one with the drawers to allow me to place a lamp on top, instead of the one where to top opens and am very happy I did.It holds a ton of DVD's, CD's, and VHS tapes.Now everything is finally off the floor!

We were looking for a TV stand that has all of the features to allow all of the different types of equipment needed for a new HiDef TV but still had a solid wood, antique look to fit with the rest of our furnishings. This stand really filled the bill. It was relatively easy to put together, taking about an hour or so, with all of the parts clearly marked and good directions. Pop'n Lock Ezy Locking Caddy Review

I purchased some of these a couple years ago elsewhere and loved them. I recently bought more. These have a rounded bottom to make it easy to get the beads out, and have a special "locking" mechanism that prevents the lids from opening unless you press a side button. This is wonderful for butter fingers like me! I wouldn't trust them not to open if dropped too high onto something like cement, but dropping it from table height onto a laminate floor, they did not open. Whew!

The trays hold 6 small units securely, but they can be removed from the bigger tray. In my opinion, this is the best bead keeper on the market. Someone really put some thought into this.

Works fine for what we need, color is okay too, though not what we hoped for. If I could do it all over, I'd go for a different product with a darker tone and more substantial frame.

It's too bad that another reviewer didn't get her 50 cents worth of paper towels, but I ordered this about six months ago and we love it. We bought a box of double fold towels from Costco and it's lasted the whole time. You do have to use both hands to pull out the towels, but it has improved our half bath area in a wonderful way.

Coventry Large TV/Media Stand Review

I got this from another store, where I had gift certificates, but still, the price could be better. It is certainly worthy of 5 stars though, in every other regard. We bought a 46" LCD and it looks perfect on this stand. I would not recommend anything over 47" or anything under 42" for a TV. The stand is a nice black, and while not all wood, it LOOKS very nice, and expensive. We had no defective pieces upon recieiving it, and assembly took about an hour and a half, with my husband doing 99% of it by himself.

The glass doors add a really nice touch and the little round floral emblem on the bottom really adds to the look of it. It is very classy and traditional, but with a touch of modern with the clean black color. The height of it is really nice too, not too tall, not too short. I would highly recommend this stand to anyone.

I received 2 of the 9" glass hangers from my Amazon wish list and was surprised to find that one of them was actually 10" (mismatched sizes).When attempting to screw in the hangers the wood screws easily became stripped (aluminum maybe?) and were too long.My recommendation is if you're going to buy these hangers, you'll need to buy quality wood screws.#8 X 5/8" - flat heads did the trick for me.The hangers themselves were simple in design and seem sturdy (spot welded).I think these items are bit overpriced for what they are.

I bought this shelf choosing to use it in my office rather than in my kitchen, to hold a scanner.I compared this item to really pricey shelves intended for office use, and this ten dollar item does the job as well as the fifty-dollars and up options in the office section!

The people at the Chan'swere VERY communicative and I was called and notified of shipping status EVERY step of the way.EXCEPT- they delivered it one day earlier than they said they would and I was not home.It was left outside my garage and it rained that afternoon.Light rain so no problem.They should have called the night before delivery to notify me- particularly because it was early.
